Antinori nel Chianti Classico

Map of the land around Antinori nel Chianti Classico: woodland, vineyards and the roads to it, at 154 metres
The land around it · hatched is woodland, rows are vines · OpenStreetMap

A landmark of modern wine architecture, half-buried in the hillside and opened in 2012. Guided cellar tours, an art collection, and a rooftop restaurant over the vines.

Our verdict

Book it, but book the tour — not just the tasting. The architecture is the point here: the building is buried in the hillside and the rooftop restaurant looks straight down the vines. It's the most polished, least intimate stop in Chianti, so come for the spectacle, not for a chat with the winemaker. If you only have a half-day, this is the one to drop — it's a production to reach and to move through.
