A boutique estate above Gaiole, founded in 1974 by a Roman businessman and now women-run, with just sixteen hectares producing around eighty thousand bottles a year — small enough that Capannelle's wines sell into thirty-five countries on reputation, not volume. The seven-room wine resort with an infinity pool is the polished, expensive way to stay inside a working vineyard rather than just visit one. Book the resort if budget allows; the wine justifies the detour either way.
