Our verdict
Run by the Chianti Classico Consortium itself, inside an eighteenth-century convent that Grand Duke Pietro Leopoldo visited in 1773 — so the wine museum upstairs has an authority the private cellars cannot claim. Do the sensory tasting path before the bistro downstairs, not after: two glasses are poured at the start, and you taste more once you understand what you are comparing. The terrace over the vineyards is worth the wait for a table.
