Our verdict
The winery isn't a stop inside the village — the whole medieval hamlet is the winery, cellars and bottling lines threaded through eleventh-century houses and old underground passages. Organic since the 1970s, and the estate makes more sense on foot than most: walk it, taste, then cross the piazza to Bar Ucci for a glass with the village's fifty residents. Book the tour ahead — you can't turn up unannounced.
