Our verdict
A no-frills local institution in Strada in Chianti where the fiorentina steak comes out at up to three kilograms, meant to be shared between two or four people — order accordingly. A hundred and eighty labels on the wine list is more than the plain dining room suggests. Family-run, filled with locals rather than tour groups, and priced like it.
