A beloved countryside trattoria on an isolated ridge near Badia a Passignano.
Our verdict
Family-run since 1983, on a ridge between Panzano and Mercatale that most GPS apps get wrong — call ahead for directions, not just a table. Bistecca fiorentina and the truffle pasta are what people drive out here for, and the terrace view over the Rignana valley is one of the best sitting-down views in Chianti. One consistent complaint worth knowing: wine gets marked up steeply if you deviate from the house bottle.
