The deal,
in plain words.

We tell you where to go and we can make the bookings. We're a guide, not a tour operator, and we don't drive the car. Everything that follows is the detail behind that.

Before you publish: fill in the bracketed details in section 1, and set this page as your Terms of Service URL in Stripe (Settings → Branding) so checkout can collect agreement to it.

1. Who you're dealing with

[REGISTERED NAME], [STREET ADDRESS, COMUNE, PROVINCE, ITALY], VAT / P.IVA [NUMBER], trading as Chianti Vivo. Contact: ciao@chiantivivo.com.

2. Using the guide

The guide, the map and the trip planner are free. Use them for planning your own trip. Don't scrape the database, resell our listings, or pass our itineraries off as your own commercial product. The words, the photographs we've licensed and the venue data are ours or our licensors'.

Photographs credited to Wikimedia Commons contributors remain under their own licences, named beside each image. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.

3. What we sell

ProductPriceWhat you getWhen
The Digital Route Pass €19 A private link to your itinerary with day-by-day Google Maps routing, a pin for every stop, the ZTL and parking notes, an offline copy, and a printable version. Immediately after payment
The VIP Concierge Package €199 We contact the venues on your itinerary and try to secure your tables, cellar visits and driver. You get a written schedule of what we held. We reply within one working day

Prices are in euro and include VAT where it applies. The price you see at checkout is the price you pay. Payment is handled by Stripe; we never see your card number.

4. Your right to change your mind

Under EU consumer law you normally have fourteen days to withdraw from a distance purchase. There is an exception for digital content delivered immediately, and it applies to the route pass.

Route pass

Because we deliver it at once, you agree at checkout that we can start immediately and you acknowledge that doing so ends your fourteen-day right of withdrawal. If the pass doesn't work, that's a different matter — see section 6.

Concierge

You keep your fourteen-day right until we start making bookings on your behalf. Once we've started, we'll refund the part we haven't yet done. Tell us within fourteen days and before your trip, and we'll be fair about it.

5. What the concierge service is, and isn't

We act as your agent when we contact venues. We are not the restaurant, the winery, the hotel or the driver, and your arrangement for the actual meal, tasting or journey is with them.

6. If something's wrong

Email ciao@chiantivivo.com. If the route pass link doesn't work, or the pass is missing days you paid for, we'll fix it or refund it in full. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected by anything on this page.

7. Driving, ZTL zones and parking

Read this one

We publish ZTL and parking information because nobody else does it properly, and we mark each entry with how well we've verified it — official means we took it from the comune, secondary means a reliable third party, unverified means we couldn't confirm it.

Restricted zones change, sometimes at short notice and sometimes for a single festival. The signs and the cameras on the day are the authority, not us. Read the signs, and if you're unsure, park outside and walk. You are responsible for your own driving and for any fine, tow or penalty you receive. We'll happily tell you what we know; we can't pay your ticket.

8. Opening hours, prices and "closed on Mondays"

We keep the database current and we visit the places we list. Even so, a trattoria will close for a family wedding and a cellar will stop taking walk-ins in August. Times, prices and closures on this site are our best information, not a promise by the venue. Book ahead where we say to.

9. The trip planner

Itineraries are generated automatically from our own venue data. It's good, and it's not a human who has just driven the route. Check timings against real life, especially at the start and end of the day, and treat the plan as a strong suggestion rather than a timetable.

10. Alcohol

Nothing on this site encourages you to drink and drive. If your day involves several tastings, use a driver — the concierge package exists partly for that reason. The legal blood alcohol limit in Italy is lower than in many countries and is zero for drivers in their first three years.

11. Liability

We're liable for what we sell you and for anything the law won't let us exclude, including death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and fraud. Beyond that, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected to a purchase is limited to the amount you paid us for it. We aren't liable for a venue's conduct, for traffic, weather, strikes, or for a fine you receive while driving.

12. Changes and law

We may change these terms. The version that applies to your purchase is the one published when you bought. These terms are governed by Italian law, and if you're a consumer you can also rely on the protections of the country you live in and bring a claim in your local courts.
